PRECONCEIVED NOTION

i am a cinephile, a bibliophile and (according to my sister) an anglophile. i am also a dork. i am sarcastic; i am addicted to chocolate and coffee. i like shoes because it's the only thing that will always fit me despite my fluctuating weight. i like to clean. i'm a fairly un-complicated person. i love driving aimlessly...just me, an open road and some awesome music. i don't know where i'm going to be in five years because i don't even know where i'm going to be tomorrow. i'm somewhat clumsy. i make weird faces when i am bored and...well, that's about it.

yesterday night i went to go see fun. and they were amazing. their set felt so fast to me, which obviously means that i was enjoying myself. their sound didn’t deviate from the way they sound on their album which is always a good thing. i loved that they played songs from both aim & ignite and some nights. they played “all the pretty girls”, “the gambler” and “some nights”, which are three of my favorite songs. and my sister was really excited when they played “one foot” since that’s her current jam. my sister described nate ruess in a funny way. she said, “he’s like kurt (from glee) come undone, with a shot of hennessy”, which from what i saw is true. i had to move to the balcony seating which was still a great view of the stage, but my friend was up close and she took these photos for me. hopefully the next time they’re on tour they will come around these parts again.

yesterday, my sister and i went to go see matt nathanson at the house blues in boston. and he was awesome of course. vanessa carlton was his opening act, and i didn’t even know she was going to be there until a couple of days ago when i checked their events page. but she was great as well. she was constantly comparing the place she was in to the shire. matt nathanson was singing and shaking his hips as i expected him too. he sang songs from his older albums and his newer ones which was great. i absolutely loved the fact that while him and his band were coming out they played the theme song for star wars. of course i completely geeked out. the man is completely hilarious as well, making a connection to the “under the sea” song from the little mermaid to crabs because the song is sung by a crab. he also impersonated shakira which was funny as well. all in all it was a great concert and i can’t wait to see him again.
