PRECONCEIVED NOTION
i overheard someone saying, “you have to go back”. and of course, me being me, immediately said, “to what, the island?” and my co-worker said to me, “only you would say something like that”. which i took as a compliment. i hope it was a compliment.
a 13 year-old girl who comes into my workplace just recently discovered supernatural. i told her that i was a huge fan of the show. this was just one of the many conversations that has taken place since then.
girl: i’m a sam girl, because he’s nice, sweet and he cares. what are you, a sam or a dean girl?
me: i like dean because he’s emotionally unavailable.
i wonder if that says a lot about me and my current single status.
this is what i heard a kid say while he was playing a game on the computer:
“dude, we’re getting raped.”
no, you little 11-year old bastard, you are not getting raped. i didn’t know losing at a game was the same as being sexually assaulted. sometimes i just want to slap these kids upside the head. is that too violent of me?
i know the golden globes never give sons of anarchy any love except for that one win for katey sagal. so i didn’t expect them to get any nominations. what gets me is that barry pepper was passed over for one, for playing bobby kennedy in the kennedys; yet greg kinnear was nominated. i’m not saying that greg kinnear did a bad job, but barry pepper didn’t win the emmy for nothing. and yes, i am using the other rudy’s disheartened face gif to portray my emotion.

i haven’t been to the movie theater in a while, and by a while i mean two weeks ago when i went to go see a free screening of moneyball. which was an excellent movie by the way. so i’m hoping to go see the ides of march and 50/50 this week. trying to make it a double feature, since that is what i do best.
the release of happythankyoumoreplease on DVD and the kennedys mini-series on netflix instant has made this a pretty awesome week.
all i want to do today is stay home and watch movies. i have about 20 dvds that i checked out from the library and i still haven’t watched any of them. they should revoke my library card. i mean, i work at a library but they should still take away my card. taking out dvds is a bad habit i can’t break. what can i say…movies are my drug.
i’ve been on an adele kick lately. i finally got around to listening to her new album. i’ve heard snippets here and there, but i heard the whole thing at work. it took everything that i had to not raise up my hand and say out loud, “sing it, girlfriend. preach!” i love every song on it, and it’s really rare when that happens.
my sister and i had a lovely day together this past weekend. we had a double dose of natalie portman. we ended up watching no strings attached, the king’s speech and black swan. did some shopping, a lot of eating, some dancing in the car on the drive home and you think we would of been tired but we ended up watching golden girls til the wee hours of the morning. we only get to go out like that 2 or 3 times out of the year, so it was awesome.
